BEEF & ONION STIR FRY
INGREDIENTS
- 2 small onions
- 1 400g flank / rump steak(thinly sliced against the grain)
THE MARINADE
- ½ tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp veg oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
THE SAUCE
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- ½ tsp dark soy sauce
- Juice of half orange
METHOD
PREPARATION
Chop the onions into thick slices. Thinly slice the steak and flatten with the side of your cleaver.
MARINADE
Place the sliced steak in a bowl with the marinade ingredients and massage through. Let that sit for a few hours if possible, to tenderize the meat. If you don’t have time, crack on!
COOKING

Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl. Fill the wok up a quarter way with oil, get it up to a high heat, and then place the steak strips in. Allow to seal and slightly crisp. Then set aside.

Add a little more oil to the wok, get it back up to a high heat and add the onions. Sear on one side, for a minute, then flip. Once they have a little colour on them, add the steak back and pour the sauce over. Let it bubble up vigorously and then stir and fold through. Once the sauce is wrapped around all the beef it is ready to serve.
